MOTUS Version 5 is Live

It’s said that every journey needs a destination. But in software development, it’s the other way around: the journey is the platform, with each release a destination. Today, we deploy MOTUS v5.

We look forward to building new collaborations with partners across national statistical institutes, research communities, and NGOs, as we work together to collect richer, more powerful data. As we move into 2026, our focus will be on integrating new data sources, not only to better support application users, but above all to capture better contextual data.

Because context around behaviour is often just as important (if not more so) than the behaviour itself. The better we understand the context, the better we can understand why people act the way they do.

That’s the difference between a release and a platform. A release marks a landmark on the journey. A platform is that journey. MOTUS, created by hbits, is built to evolve, expanding data-collection capabilities, increasing flexibility for users, and proving itself in real-world research contexts. You launch a release at version 1.0; you grow a platform as it becomes valuable.
